Ræktunarsamband Floa and Skeida contracted to drill 30 lava-filtering seawater boreholes.

Landeldi hf. and the drilling company Ræktunarsamband Floa og Skeida ehf. have signed a contract for the drilling of 30 seawater holes in Þorlákshöfn, up to 100 meters in depth. The aim is also to drill freshwater wells and wells for measuring and monitoring. The agreement guarantees Landeldi lava-filtered sea for the entire first phase of six, of the entire project. The project duration is estimated at 15 months and the Saga drill will be used for the project. The work will begin in the coming weeks.

Guðmundur Þórðarson and Stefán Sigurðsson appointed construction managers at Landeldi hf.

Guðmundur and Stefán come from Leonhard Nilsen & Sönner in Norway, where they have managed extensive projects in the field of tunnel construction in recent years. They both start working for Landeldi hf. on 1 January n.k.

Landsvirkjun and Landeldi Sign a 20 MW Green Power Purchase Agreement

Landsvirkjun and Landeldi hf. have signed a Green Power Purchase Agreement (Green PPA) for up to 20 MW of electricity to Landeldi’s land-based salmon farm in Þorlákshöfn, South Iceland. Negotiations have been ongoing since 2021. Renewable energy is key for Landeldi’s sustainable production, as well as use of sea and fresh water.

Eggert Þór Kristófersson appointed CEO of Landeldi hf.

Landeldi’s Board of Directors has appointed Eggert Þór Kristófersson as the company's CEO. He will assume the position as of August 17th, 2022. Born in 1970, Eggert Þór worked from 1995 to 2008 at Íslandsbanki and Glitnir Bank. He served as the managing director of Glitnir Bank's asset management in Iceland and Finland. Eggert Þór held the position of a finance manager of the company N1 (now the listed retail company Festi hf.) in 2011 and later CEO in February 2015. Eggert has been the chairman of the board of N1, Krónan, ELKO, Festi Real Estate, Bakkinn Supply Hotel, Malik Supply A/S and Nordic Marine Oil in Denmark.

Renewable Energy for Sustainable Land-Based Salmon Farming

A milestone was achieved in sustainable food production in Iceland, when Landsvirkjun and Landeldi, the owner of the Landeldi project, signed a term sheet for electricity delivery for a new salmon farm in Þorlákshöfn. This fully land-based salmon farm has been on the drawing board for a while. Landeldi is an Icelandic company, specialising exclusively in land-based aquaculture. The aim is to finalise a power purchase agreement in accordance with the term sheet before the end of the year.

Landeldi and Benchmark Genetics extend cooperation

Since December 2020, Benchmark Genetics Iceland has provided Landeldi with over 2 million salmon ova. Yesterday, the two Icelandic companies signed a 3-year extension where Benchmark continues to fulfil Landeldi’s needs for its ongoing expansion.

HighComp signs a major delivery contract with Landeldi

Landeldi has signed a delivery contract with High Comp for sustainable tank solutions for the first construction phase of the Landeldi Station; 8 glass-fiber basins built in a strong and flexible material. The tanks are 20 metres in diameter and constitute the so-called M2 section complimenting the M1 phase of 4x15m tanks, previously contracted from local supplier Trefjar ehf.

Funding of Landeldi Project's first phase secured

Landeldi’s management team is proud to announce that funding for the first 2.500 tons phase has successfully concluded for the Landeldi Project. The total new equity funding this year will be €15,3 million. Parallel to €2 million in debt funding.
