Landeldi and the municipality of Ölfus just signed a contract to increase the land area for the Deep Atlantic Project from 18,3 ha to 27,2 ha. As a result, Landeldi has increased the annual forecasted production volume of its Deep Atlantic Salmon from 20.000 tons to 32.500 tons and will subsequently add several biomes in two to three phases.

Results from experimental drilling for salinewater underneath our facilities indicate a sufficient supply of clean ocean water to comfortably accommodate the increased size. The construction effort is proceeding according to plan and the additional modular biomes will be added in phases.

The groundwork for the first 19m, 24m and 30m tanks is on schedule to be finished in late September and the tank installment will follow immediately. Because of the modular build-up method, we plan to move the first smolts to the grow-out station in late January 2022, mapping our technical designs on to the new area.

These are tremendously exciting times in Ölfus!
